  23. A new release of libwww, the public domain code library for
  24. W3 clients and servers, is now available as
  25. <ftp://info.cern.ch/pub/www/src/WWW*2.06.tar.Z>
  26.  
  27. Also released at the same time is the httpd HTTP server,
  28. and the "www" line mdoe browser.
  29.  
  30. Changes are documented in the web.  The main ones are:
  31.  
  32. - Improved handling of WAIS access, including caching of
  33.    wais server descriptions in /usr/wsrc.
  34.  
  35. - Directory listings (server anmd client) for local files
  36.   are now separated into subdirectories and files,
  37.   and sorted alphabetically.
  38.  
  39. A number of bugs have been removed.  Binaries
  40. of www and httpd are available for Sun, Decstation,
  41. HP, rs6000, next
